New York City is absolutely magical during the holiday season, and the neighborhood of the Upper East Side is no exception. From beautifully decorated residential brownstones to festive displays at stores, hotels, and restaurants, there are amazing holiday decorations to enjoy all across the neighborhood.

Yesterday (7/14/26), the NYC Health Department rel Yesterday (7/14/26), the NYC Health Department released a list of 76 buildings on the Upper East Side with cooling towers that tested positive for Legionella bacteria via PCR screening - an increase from the preliminary list of 31 buildings released last week.

Of the 76, 57 buildings have already completed the required cleaning and disinfection, and the remaining 19 must complete it by Thursday, 7/16.

According to NYC Health, it remains safe to use air conditioners, shower, and drink tap water, and there is no additional risk from being inside these buildings. 

if you’re experiencing flu-like symptoms, please reach out to your doctor right away!
